The first piece of news I have for you is that Ken Croucher has stepped down as Secretary and Treasurer of the Club. The Committee would like to thank Ken for all his hard work and his steady hand guiding us through the last couple of years. I am pleased to tell you that Ken leaves us in good health, as far as shooting is concerned there are no changes, you can continue to shoot as normal. Ken will continue as a shooting member and you will see him on the shooting line enjoying his new found, and well earned, free time. The Committee have appointed me as Secretary pro-tem, that is until the next election. Similarly Carl Allen has been appointed Treasurer pro-tem until the next election. As a committee, we are happy that the essential jobs are being covered but if you want to help out, then please let us know. You will be pleased to hear that Ken is still willing to offer advise to Carl and me as we settle into our new temporary roles. Who is doing what? Gren Williams - Coaching Officer, Equipment Officer and Child Protection Officer Carl Allen - Membership Secretary, Records Officer and Treasurer pro-tem Hari Bakhshi - Webmaster and Secretary pro-tem Valerie Williamson - President According to our Constitution, there is no requirement to hold an EGM (Extraordinary General Meeting) to elect a new Secretary or Treasurer at this time, we can continue until the AGM at the end of September. However if there is a general desire amongst the members to have an election for Secretary, the committee have no objection to holding an EGM. Please let me know if you want an election or even if you want the job as Secretary or Treasurer! The point here is that in order to successfully hold an EGM we need people willing to be elected to the posts. On to shooting. The outdoor season has started, the field has been mowed, new target faces have been put up and one of the bosses has been changed, thanks to Gren for doing all of this work. There is some additional work required and we are organising a work party for 12PM on Saturday 22 April, you will get at least one more nagging email about this, this week. We need as many people as possible to turn up and help clear the line of weeds. We also need help in putting up a new boss. Please turn up at 12PM on Saturday and bring a spade! If there are enough of us, this should take no more than an hour. Over the next few months, the Committee would like to put some focus on the Juniors in the Club. Ideally, we would like to develop a Junior Section with their own representative on the committee. Initially this will be an appointment but will transition to an elected role at the next AGM. Finally, we have a Beginners course running on 20 May 2017, it is up on our website if anyone wants to book. I realise that this is a time of transition, though a minor transition. As such there will be questions and members are right to seek reassurance that their Club will continue to facilitate their chosen sport.
